Father’s Day is just around the corner so here’s a few ideas on
things to make and ways to celebrate Dad!
First, here’s a fun breakfast recipe and something my girls
said they want to make for their Dad this year.
Croissant French Toast
My husband loves French Toast, but it’s not something we make often. He recently bought some croissants at the grocery store which gave me an idea, let’s make Croissant French Toast on Father’s Day! This will be a fun surprise he isn’t expecting and I bet it will be yummy! After doing an online search, I realized apparently it’s already a thing. So here’s a recipe from Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman so you know it’s good!
8 whole Croissants (a Rounder Shape Is Best)
5 whole Eggs
1/4 c. Half-and-half
2 tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Butter, For Frying And Serving
Warm Syrup, For Serving
Strawberries, For Serving (optional)
Whipped Cream, For Serving (optional)
Split the croissants in half through the middle.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Dunk each croissant half into the mixture so that it’s fully coated. Set pieces aside on a plate.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over low heat, then melt a small amount of butter. Add as many pieces as will fit, cut side down, then increase the heat very slightly (don’t go above medium-low).
Allow the toast to cook on the first side for 3 to 4 minutes. Move it around in the skillet a bit to make sure it doesn’t burn. When it’s deep golden brown on the surface, flip it to the other side and let it cook for another 2 minutes or so.
Remove from the pan and cook the rest of the croissant halves.
Serve a top and bottom piece together with butter, warm syrup, strawberries, and whipped cream. Enjoy!
Bake a Cake!
A few weeks ago, when I asked my girls what they wanted to do for Dad on Father’s Day, they both said they wanted to make a cake! I thought this was a fun idea and I plan to completely relinquish my help once I have them set up to decorate. I will help them prep and bake the cake but once it’s time to ice it and decorate it, I am going to let them go to town no matter how much my Type A personality wants to take over. My husband’s favorite cake is red velvet so I have it on stand by ready to make. I envision it being covered in uneven icing, too many candles and sprinkle overload perfection!
Spa like experience for the shower and great for a head massage after a long day at work.
These glasses remind me of parachute pants and mullets but they are coming back in style. My husband may or may not have already bought himself a pair as an early Father’s Day gift.
My husband is picky about the wallet he carries and has been using this style for years. Fossil both looks great and holds up great.
Who remembers these? As a kid, I remember my Dad having these inspirational posters and plaques around his office. Brad recently mentioned wanting to have some stuff like this for his office so this is on my shopping list for this Father’s Day.
The perfect dish to contain Dad’s things while still being a decor piece. Win win!
We gave my husband a pair of these socks for Valentine’s Day this year and he LOVES them! The quality is great in regards to the feel of the socks and I was impressed by the print quality as you can clearly see my girls’ faces. You can customize them with color, text options and can select from 1-3 pictures to upload. For Father’s Day, they have this #1 Dad option as well. So fun and highly recommend! I think this is what we will be sending my Father-in-law this year.
These straw hats for men are back in and are perfect for days at the beach or cruising on the lake.
Last year for Father’s Day, we did a lot of DIY projects. This year, we are going to DIY lego route to make these cute Lego dots frames. I actually already picked up two of these mini kits to put together but also just saw this larger kit that gives more color choices and variations.
Perfect for the outdoorsy Dad to rinse off after a day on the boat, beach or hiking!
Pick a Theme
I love a good themed gift! Here’s another cute idea for Dad to relax on Father’s Day while enjoying some of his favorites: Slippers filled with candy bars, chapstick, favorite snacks and O’keefe’s working hands and healthy feet lotions.
