There’s really nothing that quite compares to the moment you look down at a pregnancy test and see that it’s positive. It is full of emotion ranging from the panic of wondering if you are actually as ready as you thought to care for this little baby to the jaw dropping, take your breath away excitement of the blessing you have been given.
While everyone else gets to experience the joy that surrounds a pregnancy announcement, the new mom-to-be is the one to then ride the hormonal rollercoaster of how her body will react to having a new roommate for 9 months (ok let’s be real, it’s 10 months).
When we recently found out some sweet friends are expecting their first baby, we wanted to put together a fun care package to send to them. Now being a mom of 2, I put on my thinking cap and took a stroll around Target to put it together. Here is what I found:
Preggie Pop Drops
For those waves of nausea and bouts of morning sickness.
Kleenex
For when she starts crying at every commercial on TV.
Face Mask
Because pregnancy hormones can go a little crazy on your skin.
Bath Bomb
To ease away the aches and pains in a warm bath.
This mom-to-be loves the beach, so I opted for this sea breeze ‘earth bomb’.
Hand Sanitizer
To try to keep away the germs.
Nothing is worse than being sick while pregnant, especially since you are very limited on what you can actually take to alleviate symptoms.
Her Unique Craving(s)
This mom-to-be is craving yellow mustard! So I bought the biggest one I could. Dad-to-be told on her and said she recently ate pizza covered in ranch and mustard. Cravings are a funny thing!
Tide To Go Pen
For when the bump becomes a food magnet.
[Especially for this mom’s mustard cravings!]
Chocolate
Because everyone loves chocolate. Correction — needs chocolate.
A Book
Because every baby gift I give includes a book. Reading is so important and we love our family story time. We have several of these Thomas Nelson books and love them! Especially the fun, color pictures.
A Memory a Day Journal
Whether mom-to-be wants to use this to remember every doctor’s appointment, kick or any other pregnancy milestone or save it for once baby arrives, this is a fun way to capture in words the little moments you will enjoy reminiscing about later on. The sleepless nights make for days that run together and all moms know all too well how fast the times goes. The days are long but the years are short!
What else would you add? Are you a mom or mom-to-be? What have you craved? Let me know!
